Festival Overview

This year marks the 39th annual Tauber Music Festival. This annual event is held at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg and involves several hundred students performing solos on acoustic piano, ensemble piano, guitar, keyboard, voice, violin and ukulele. Performances are held in each of ten performance rooms throughout the main and second floors of the RBC Convention Centre. Students will perform on a small stage in front of a professional music adjudicator and an audience of up to 100 people. Admission to the performance rooms is free to all family and friends on festival day.

The Music Festival gives our students an opportunity to show their talents and skills to family and friends. It is also an opportunity to grow musically as each student receives a personal adjudication from a professional adjudicator. As a celebration of music, the festival emphasizes participation and personal achievement.

The overall experience... from choosing appropriate festival music, to bringing that music to a performance level, and then the performance itself, are equally important lessons and experiences for the students who participate.

As part of a student's overall music education, we believe students should learn skills that promote self-confidence and self-esteem. These are important character traits that will benefit them throughout their life.
